In the food industry, the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries, a product’s safety is of capital importance. The contamination of a product or the presence of a foreign body represents danger for the consumer (a health risk) as well as for the producer (economic risk). Mastering and managing these risks are fully part of the safety and hygiene policy set in these sectors. Contamination can happen at any moment throughout the process : - Initial contamination : raw materials
- Transformation of the product : production line or environment deterioration (worn tools, broken light-bulbs or utensils…)
Characterising foreign bodies is therefore a major asset that enables us to effect corrective action or appropriate prevention. |
